Drain Line Jetting Technician

Job Summary

The Drain Line Jetting Technician is responsible for cleaning, clearing, and maintaining drainage and sewer lines using high-pressure water jetting equipment. The role ensures efficient wastewater flow, prevents blockages, and supports safe, hygienic facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

Perform high-pressure water jetting to clean and unblock drain, sewer, and stormwater lines Diagnose drainage issues such as grease buildup, sludge, roots, and debris Operate jetting machines, vacuum units, and related drainage equipment safely Conduct CCTV drain inspections to identify blockages and pipe damage (if applicable) Respond to emergency drainage blockages and flooding incidents Ensure compliance with safety standards, permits, and environmental regulations Prepare job reports, service logs, and customer documentation Coordinate with maintenance teams, facility managers, and clients Perform routine maintenance and inspections of jetting equipment Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure proper waste disposal

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of drainage systems and pipe networks Ability to operate high-pressure jetting and drainage equipment Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills Ability to work in confined spaces and outdoor environments Good communication and customer service skills

Qualifications & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent Certification or training in drain cleaning / jetting operations (preferred) 1-3 years of experience in drainage, plumbing, or facilities maintenance Valid driving license (often required)

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift heavy equipment and hoses Comfortable working in wet, confined, or outdoor environments Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or emergency call-outs
