Draftsman
Job Title: Draftsman / CAD Technician
Department: Engineering / Design
Reports To: Senior Engineer / Project Architect
Job Summary:
The Draftsman is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans based on the concepts and calculations of architects and engineers. Using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, they produce the blueprints and schematics that are essential for the manufacturing, construction, and installation of structures, components, and systems. Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount in this role.
Key Responsibilities:

• Drawing Creation:
• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, and schematics using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks).
• Convert rough sketches, redlines, and verbal instructions from engineers and architects into precise technical drawings.
• Produce drawings for various stages of a project, including conceptual, design development, and construction/assembly phases.
• Technical Detailing:
• Incorporate precise dimensions, materials, tolerances, and procedures into drawings.
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), parts lists, and assembly instructions.
• Ensure all drawings adhere to company drafting standards, industry conventions, and relevant codes.
• Revision and Modification:
• Revise and update existing drawings based on mark-ups and change requests from the engineering or project management team.
• Manage different versions of drawings and maintain proper document control.
• Collaboration and Support:
• Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Provide support to the production or construction teams by clarifying drawing details.
• Participate in design review meetings and incorporate feedback.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate's degree or certification in Drafting, CAD, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Draftsman or CAD Technician.
• High proficiency in CAD software, with a strong preference for AutoCAD and/or Revit. Knowledge of BIM is a significant advantage.
• Excellent understanding of technical drawing principles, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
• Good spatial awareness and visualization skills.
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering sketches and instructions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
