Draughtsman - Steel & Aluminum Fabrication

We are seeking a

skilled and detail-oriented Draughtsman

to join our team in the aluminum and steel fabrication industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing precise technical drawings and plans for various steel and aluminum structures while ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Drawings & Drafting:

Develop detailed CAD drawings for aluminum, steel, and glass structures, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.

Design Collaboration:

Work closely with designers, engineers, and project managers to translate concepts into precise technical drawings.

Fabrication Support:

Provide accurate shop drawings that facilitate the production process, ensuring correct measurements and material specifications.

Revisions & Updates:

Modify and update drawings based on feedback from clients, architects, or internal teams, ensuring compliance with the latest specifications.

Material Specifications:

Define and detail aluminum, steel, and glass materials, fittings, and hardware within project drawings.

Project Documentation:

Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, material lists, and design notes.

Site Assessments:

Conduct occasional site visits to verify dimensions and ensure alignment between designs and real-world conditions.

Quality Control:

Ensure all designs meet industry standards, building codes, and internal quality control procedures.

Coordination with Teams:

Collaborate with engineering, production, and project management teams to ensure design feasibility and adherence to timelines.

Qualifications:

Education:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Design, Architecture, or a related field. CAD software certifications are a plus.

Experience:

5+ years of experience in drafting, preferably in the aluminum, steel, and glass fabrication industry.

Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in

AutoCAD

,

Revit

, or equivalent drafting software.
- Strong knowledge of

technical drawing conventions, symbols, and measurements

.
- Familiarity with

building codes and industry standards

for steel and aluminum fabrication.

Soft Skills:

- Attention to detail and accuracy.
