Key Responsibilities:

Material Selection and Evaluation:

Collaborate with company teams in regard to the material selection and proposals.

Provides Quality Control Department with required testing procedures for project materials.

Manage material supplier relationships and evaluate new suppliers for quality and reliability.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to materials, specifications, and quality assurance processes.

Generate material submittals, material specification logs.

Liaise with clients and secure approvals for proposed materials.

Identify newly introduced or innovative materials in the market and propose applications in product range.

Specification Development and Management:

Develop and maintain detailed product specifications, including materials, dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.

Ensure that product specifications align with industry standards and customer requirements.

Review and update specifications as needed to improve product performance and quality.

Review used materials and identified opportunities for quality, performance, or commercial enhancement.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Establish and oversee rigorous quality assurance processes and procedures related to materials and specifications.

Monitor product manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with established specifications and quality standards.

Conduct audits and inspections to verify adherence to quality standards.

Investigate and resolve any non-conformities or quality issues related to materials and specifications.

Responsible for internal and external technical Change Control, Requesting Information, & Non-conformity reports.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

Identify newly introduced or innovative materials in the market and propose applications in the product range.

Develop creative and technically sound solutions to enhance and develop the product range.

Determine root causes of nonconformities and improve processes to enhance quality standards.

Study Tender/project documents and prepare tender/project quality plans for submission.

Continuous Improvement:

Continuous development of the Quality Assurance & Control manual.

Continuous development of the Design & Engineering manual.

Identify opportunities for process and product improvements related to materials, specifications, and quality assurance.

Implement best practices to enhance product quality and cost-effectiveness.

Stay current with industry trends and emerging materials and technologies.

Coordinate with external certification bodies for the certification and surveillance audit of the business units.

Ensure proper implementation of the quality management system through internal audits and provide full audit reports to management.

Prepare Quality Assurance reports by creating key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of current processes.

Engineering Support:

Provide the Engineering Department with approved materials and required technical information for design.

Ensure design compliance with approved materials and tender proposals.

Production and Supply Chain Support:

Provide the Production Team with required method statements for material application.

Provide the Supply Chain Department with approved material logs and specifications.
