Job Description
Worldwide Zoo Consultants is seeking a dedicated and experienced Dog Trainer who specializes in positive reinforcement techniques. You will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of dogs and their owners by teaching effective and humane training methods. \xc2\xa0 Key Responsibilities
- Operant Conditioning, Positive Reinforcement Training:
- Access and create customized training plans based on individual dog needs and goals. Ability to adapt plan as variables change.
- Implement operant conditioning, positive reinforcement training methods to modify dog behavior and strengthen the bond between dogs and their owners.
- Lead individual or group training sessions to teach basic obedience behaviors (sit, stay, heel) and address specific behavioral problems (barking, jumping, aggression).
- Use operant conditioning, positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors, such as primary or secondary reinforcers.
- Identify and analyze behavioral issues in dogs, including fear, anxiety, aggression, or other problems and utilize behavioral methods to extinguish these behaviors.
- Develop behavior modification plans to train new behaviors and address and resolve any issues.
- Training:
- Conduct one-on-one training sessions with dog owners and their pets, providing guidance and hands-on coaching.
- Guide and educate dog owners on operant conditioning, positive reinforcement techniques.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for both dogs and owners.
- Assessment and Progress Tracking:
- Assess the behavior and progress of dogs under your guidance, adjusting training plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions and client progress.
- Maintain detailed records of each dog\'s progress, including training milestones, behavioral changes, and any concerns.
- Document training plans, notes, and recommendations for each dog.
- Proven experience as a Dog Trainer, specializing in operant conditioning, positive reinforcement methods.
- Certification in dog training or related field is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of dog/animal behavior, learning theory, and training techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and their dogs.
- Passion for promoting positive relationships between dogs and their owners.
- Patient, compassionate, and dedicated to the well-being of dogs.
