Distribution Manager

Job Description

1. Job Purpose Organize the storage and distribution of goods in a timely, cost-effective manner. Manage all activities undertaken within the Warehouse & Dispatch departments. Prepare inventory reports for management reporting and ensure adequate justifications are available for identified variances. Allocate tasks and responsibilities to Warehouse & Dispatch staff. Manage inventory of finished goods to ensure products are stored according to best practices and the required food safety standards. Ensure the proper identification of stored products by batches to follow FIFO and for ease of traceability. Manage the Dispatch team to ensure orders are fulfilled in a timely manner. 2. Primary Duties Performed Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services. Direct, optimize and coordinate full customer order cycle. Monitor flow of inventory in and out of organization\xe2\x80\x99s facilities. Organize shipments and plan vehicle routes. Coordinate drivers, vehicles, loads and journeys. Determine storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, physical capabilities of facilities and obtain approval for any change in methodology. Ensure physical verification of inventories is performed on a period basis (as per company policy). Review and approve variance analysis report for differences between physical stock and book stock. Report any variances, as per company policy. Understand, work with and possibly help to develop e-commerce. Keep track of delivery times, transport costs and efficiency. Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements. Conduct interviews for inventory department staff in liaison with HR department. Conduct performance appraisal activities for all department employees. Liaise with and manage staff timings / shifts. Prepare and monitor departmental budget. Ensure all department policies and procedures are adhered to by all staff members. Implement health and safety procedures. 3. Qualifications and Experience Required Bachelor / Master Degree / Professional certification in Inventory & Logistics Management or any other equivalent qualification Excellent communication skills and high proficiency in Microsoft Office. Organized and multi- tasker. Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in similar industry Minimum 3 years in management capacity Job Type: Full-time Salary: From BD800.000 per month Education:
