Job Summary



The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Discount Shop. This includes managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, monitoring sales and inventory, maintaining shop cleanliness and organization, and ensuring smooth coordination between departments and suppliers. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities Daily Operations



Supervise all shop activities including sales, cash handling, and customer service. Open and close the shop daily, ensuring proper handover and security procedures. Monitor daily sales performance and ensure sales targets are met. Ensure all areas of the shop are clean, well-organized, and properly stocked. Handle customer concerns, complaints, or returns professionally and efficiently.

Inventory & Stock Management



Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking. Coordinate with suppliers for restocking and delivery schedules. Check incoming stocks for quality, accuracy, and proper labeling. Maintain records of daily sales, stock in/out, and damaged or returned goods.

Staff Supervision



Manage and schedule staff shifts and attendance. Train staff on sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer service. Ensure staff maintain proper grooming, uniforms, and discipline. Motivate the team to achieve sales and performance goals.

Financial & Administrative Duties



Prepare daily sales reports and cash reconciliations. Ensure accuracy of POS transactions and safe handling of cash and credit sales. Submit daily and weekly reports to management. Monitor expenses and suggest ways to control costs.

Customer Service & Marketing



Maintain a welcoming and helpful shopping environment. Support promotional events, discounts, and display arrangements. Collect customer feedback and suggest improvements. Coordinate with management for seasonal or special offers.

Qualifications



Minimum 3 years of experience in retail or shop management. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of retail operations, inventory systems, and POS. Basic accounting and reporting skills. Fluent in English (Arabic and Hindi/Urdu are an advantage). Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple responsibilities.

Working Hours



Full-time, 6 days a week (including weekends and public holidays as needed).
