About Nanoracks
Nanoracks is a cutting-edge aerospace company focusing on providing commercial access to space, currently on the International Space Station (ISS), suborbital vehicles, expendable launch vehicles, and more! We have sent over 1,000 payloads to the Space Station, kickstarted the CubeSat deployment revolution, and have customers in over 30 nations.

Since 2009, Nanoracks has created and expanded new in-space markets and has been the world leader for ushering in a new era of in-space services. Currently, Nanoracks is working to build commercial space stations ("Outposts") from the spent upper stages of launch vehicles in orbit. This technology will enable spent upper stages to be used as crewed and un-crewed space stations for various purposes and customers-both civil and commercial.

NanoRacks is a small company (70+ awesome people), but we interface with much larger organizations from around the world. You will need to be able to work in small and large groups as well as simultaneously execute an entire project on time.
Director, StarLab AgTech Center
Description:

Your role will be pioneering, as you will be developing the first ever commercial space AgTech research center in the world. We need a person that is entrepreneurial, independently motivated, creative, visionary, and a strong leader. The selected candidate must combine proven industry skills with an entrepreneurial flair to work with our existing Abu Dhabi office to create a world-class space research facility.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as the main point of contact for development of the R&D facility in Abu Dhabi
Develop over the next several years, a full research team focused on agreed upon core areas
Manage budgets and facilities oversight
Develop proposals for funding and joint projects relating to research and development
Work directly with government organizations in the region
Oversee quality and process of scientific tests related to developing new products and services to meet goals for Earth and Space agriculture research
Provide involvement and support for the business development in the UAE and the team in the U.S.
Lead new AgTech product development and be responsible for guiding the technical aspects of new product development. You will work closely with marketing, R&D and our partners to develop value propositions for the new products and services, as well as identify the most attractive target categories/customers for the products
Develop and implement growth strategies for the lab
Hire employees and other researchers
Generate reports and give presentations to various audiences, technical and non-technical
This is a unique entrepreneurial opportunity to be the first hire of the StarLab Center and work with Nanoracks, LLC to create a sustainable program unique in the community. You will interface daily with our small Abu Dhabi office to implement the program. Nanoracks, LLC office will assist the chosen candidate in re-location to Abu Dhabi if they currently out of country.

Basic Qualifications:
Extensive Space Agriculture, or management of controlled environment agriculture and related technology.
Have some understanding and experience as it relates to Space biology, Astrobiology coupled with the development of Lunar/Mars and Orbital Greenhouses
Experience managing and directing research programs
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proactive nature.
Multi-lingual is a plus
Compensation
Competitive with local and industry standard.

12 years ago today signed our first Space Act Agreement with @ NASA for # ISS utilization. @ Nanoracks became first company to own, operate and market it's own hardware. Incredible progress in # LEO ecosystem since that day. More to do!
