Takes personal responsibility for developing key internal and external partner relations.
Act as primary interface with senior management levels in TRA's relevant teams and relevant du business units, in relation to Regulatory issues.
Represent du's interests before the TRA in relation to the above issues verbally & in writing including by:
+ drafting submissions to the TRA on proposed &/or existing regulatory policies & other regulatory instruments;
+ representing du at various industry for a established by the TRA regarding some or all of the above areas;
+ drafting written complaints to the TRA regarding allegations of non-compliance by third parties;
+ reviewing complaints against du regarding alleged non-compliances & drafting defences to those complaints,
+ with a view to influencing the TRA to reflect du's position in ultimate policy outcomes. Provide clear, high quality, pro-active and re-active strategic & commercial regulatory advice & support to the business in relation to issues including:
+ product/ service offerings and non-price retail/commercial obligations under the TRA's Regulatory Framework
+ licensing regulation, including interpretation of du's license obligations, service scope and those of other UAE licensees
+ marketing and communication practices regulation and disputes by TRA/competition
+ Accountable for immediate staff management & all associated activities
+ Drives employee engagement within their functional area Leads team by role modeling brand values and implementing good management practices
Champions Emiratization within own area
Qualifications:
Appropriate professional qualification in Law, Technology, Business, Commerce or other related discipline from a recognized institution
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in legal or regulatory affairs in telecoms or other regulated industries
Direct experience in implementation of regulatory decisions within business & developing complex regulatory positioning in discussions or submissions to external stakeholders &/or in providing support to internal stakeholders
Skills:
Understanding of telecommunications and technologies
Strong English language written & verbal communication skills, bilingual capability (fluency in English & Arabic) desirable but not essential
Strong commercial focus, pragmatic and solutions-oriented
Hands on approach & ability to produce work product autonomously
Strong influencing & negotiating skills
Project Management skills, including ability to work effectively as part of cross-functional virtual teams
* Strong MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
