We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Interior Design to lead a team in delivering high-end, large-scale projects across mixed-use, hospitality, retail, commercial, and residential sectors. Key Responsibilities
- Lead creative interior design efforts on client projects, developing overall design concepts and design presentation strategies
- Manage and strengthen client relationships while developing new business opportunities
- Oversee all phases of the interior design process, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and construction documentation
- Advise on the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting
- Supervise the generation of finish plans, specifications, and material selections for construction
- Provide design support and documentation during the execution of design concepts
- Collaborate with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators
- Mentor and provide creative direction to interior design teams globally
- Act as the primary interior design interface with clients and consultants
- Promote an interdisciplinary design approach and philosophy across teams
- Participate in business development and marketing initiatives
Communication Responsibilities
- Coordinate design development processes across all company offices
- Serve as the communication link between project managers, directors, and the interior design team to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Define and enforce project-specific interior design deliverables and deadlines
- Maintain communication with project subconsultants, suppliers, contractors, and specialists to meet project requirements
- Engage with clients through virtual or physical meetings across company offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh, Madinah, and other locations
- Manage global interior design team communications, ensuring alignment across all company branches
Team Development
- Build and structure interior design teams to meet project needs
- Evaluate and assign team positions while mentoring and providing training for skill development
- Recruit the required manpower to maintain high project quality and meet deadlines
- Collaborate with design directors and managers to prepare project timelines, manpower schedules, and resource allocation plans
- Ensure the productivity and efficiency of the global interior design team
Quality Assurance
- Review, approve, and oversee all design drawings and technical documentation for accuracy and quality
- Ensure all concept designs meet RIBA framework standards and client requirements
- Maintain and develop CAD manuals, Revit libraries, and design working libraries
- Ensure team capability in delivering projects using software such as CAD, Revit, 3ds Max, SketchUp, and others
- Build coordination between interior design and other project disciplines to ensure smooth integration
- Oversee design execution quality on project sites when required
Job Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of experience in interior design leadership
- Experience in delivering high-end, large-scale projects across various sectors
- International experience, preferably with exposure to European design practices
- Strong expertise in FF&E selection, technical detailing, and construction documentation
- Proficiency in multiple design software platforms, including CAD, Revit, SketchUp, and 3ds Max
- Excellent leadership, communication, and business development skills
- Strong understanding of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations
