Rugby School Dubai, in partnership with Aldar Education, is seeking an exceptional Director of MOE Subjects to join its founding leadership team ahead of the school's opening in August 2026.

The Director of MOE Subjects will provide strategic leadership for Arabic (First and Second Language) and other MOE-mandated subjects, ensuring full compliance with MOE requirements while embedding these disciplines meaningfully within the wider British curriculum. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping curriculum design, pedagogy, assessment, and cultural integration, ensuring that MOE subjects are delivered with rigour, ambition, and authenticity, and are aligned with the school's values, identity, and long-term vision.
This is a leadership role requiring a deep understanding of Arabic language education, Emirati culture, MOE frameworks, and international best practice.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and School Development

  • Contribute to the whole-school vision and strategic direction, working closely with the Principal and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a clear, ambitious strategy for MOE subjects that reflects Rugby School Dubai's ethos and educational philosophy.
  • Analyse and interpret school and departmental data to inform policy development, self-evaluation, and strategic planning.
  • Develop and oversee short, medium, and long-term plans for MOE subjects, ensuring continuous improvement and sustainability.
  • Represent MOE subjects at leadership meetings, inspections, and external engagements when required.
  • Champion the profile, identity, and status of MOE subjects across the school community.
Curriculum, Teaching and Learning
  • Design and lead a high-quality, coherent curriculum for Arabic (First and Second Language) and other MOE subjects, ensuring progression from primary through to senior phases.
  • Set and uphold consistently high expectations for teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning, identifying strengths and driving improvement through coaching and professional development.
  • Embed UAE culture, national identity, and values meaningfully across the curriculum and wider school life.
  • Ensure MOE subjects contribute actively to enrichment, co-curricular provision, intervention programmes, and wider school initiatives.
Leadership, Staff Management and Assessment
  • Line manage and performance-manage MOE subject leaders and teaching staff in line with school and Aldar Education policies.
  • Build a collaborative, high-performing team culture rooted in accountability, support, and professional growth.
  • Lead departmental meetings focused on curriculum development, pedagogy, assessment, and student achievement.
  • Oversee the organisation and delivery of International Benchmark Assessments and MOE assessments.
  • Analyse assessment data to identify trends, inform interventions, and improve outcomes for all student groups.
  • Lead monitoring, evaluation, and review processes to quality assure provision and ensure consistently high standards.
Culture, Community and Operations
  • Lead initiatives that promote Arabic language proficiency, UAE culture, and National Identity across the school.
  • Organise and support cultural events such as Ramadan activities, National Day, and community celebrations.
  • Ensure effective deployment of staff and resources to maximise impact.
  • Manage departmental budgets to support teaching, learning, and innovation.
  • Create high-quality learning environments that reflect Rugby School Dubai's ethos and educational ambition.
  • Provide strategic oversight and targeted support for Emirati students to support academic progression and post-secondary readiness.
  • Undertake additional duties as required by the Principal in line with the seniority of the role.
Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject.
  • PGCE or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to meet UAE MOE and KHDA requirements.
  • A Master's degree in Arabic Language, Education, or Leadership is desirable but not essential.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' teaching experience.
  • Proven leadership experience within MOE subjects is highly desirable.
  • Experience working within Premium British or international curriculum schools.
  • Strong working knowledge of MOE frameworks, standards, and inspection requirements.
