Job Summary

Reporting to the SVP Finance, the Director Financial Planning and Analysis holds a key leadership position overseeing the entire Financial Planning and Analysis function within Atlantis Dubai. You will be responsible for providing strategic direction, driving financial performance, and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data and reporting. Your role will involve collaborating closely with executive management, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to develop and implement financial strategies, optimize performance, and achieve organizational goals. Additionally, you will mentor and guide the senior manager, managers, and analysts, fostering their professional development and ensuring the department operates efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance for the Financial Planning and Analysis function.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies in alignment with the resort\'s overall goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the coordination and preparation of the annual budget, forecast, and financial reports.
  • Drive the financial analysis and reporting processes, providing insights and recommendations to executive management for informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other departments and senior management to develop long-term financial plans and forecasts.
  • Enhance and optimize financial models for complex business scenarios.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Conduct comprehensive return on investment (ROI) analysis for projects and investments, assessing financial viability, analyzing expected returns and risks, and presenting detailed ROI reports to executive management.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, reporting, and compliance with industry-specific financial practices and regulations.
  • Lead CAPEX planning and reporting, working closely with departments to gather project information, analyze financial viability, prepare budgets, and monitor expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Direct the labor productivity analysis and reporting initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Financial Planning and Analysis team.
  • Mentor, guide, and provide professional development opportunities for the senior manager, managers, and analysts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to develop and implement financial strategies that optimize performance and drive the achievement of organizational goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes impacting financial planning and analysis.
  • Lead and oversee special projects and initiatives within the resort.
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
  • Extensive experience in Financial planning and analysis or related roles - Minimum 7 years experience
  • Strong leadership abilities and proven track record in providing strategic financial insights to executive management.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial analysis, modeling, and budgeting techniques.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills to lead and coordinate financial initiatives.
  • In-depth understanding of industry-specific financial practices and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial software, advanced Excel skills, and experience with financial modeling tools.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A master\'s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CFA, CPA) is preferred.
