Job Description

JOB TITLE: Content Director DEPARTMENT/ SECTOR: Brand and Event Marketing Operations SECTION: Content Development ORGANIZATION: Dubai Corporation of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM)
JOB OBJECTIVE:

Overseeing the development of DET's content strategy, guidelines and standards, and driving the content implementation and developments in line with the Department of Economy and Tourism' vision and objectives.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Reporting to: AVP, Brand and Content Department
Direct Reports: Visual Content Manager (video and photo), Content Manager, Editorial Manager, Photographer, Arabic Content Copywriter; Junior Producer

Internal Communication:
  • Department Heads Across DET

External Communication:
  • Third Party Vendors (e.g. agencies)
  • Videographers
  • Production Organizations
  • Photographers
  • Content Developers
  • Freelance Copywriters


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Functional Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development of content strategy in alignment with overall organization and marketing strategies and drive the detailing of approved strategy;
  • Drive creation of inspirational, authoritative, fresh and compelling content that relates to the brand promise;
  • Oversee content publishing and distribution of the developed content across formats and form factors - (e.g. editorial, pictures, videos, infographics, articles and newsletters) and drive the continuous content improvement efforts
  • Manage the development of content and quality standards (and processes) and ensure that all developed content across formats and form factors follow DET's standards;
  • Oversee the stakeholder relationship management activities and ensure that all internal and external stakeholders' requests are addressed;
  • Oversee the content performance against the defined content metrics; review periodic performance reports and take necessary actions to address identified improvement areas
  • Present content development performance related reports with higher management to enable them to take data driven decisions;
  • Manage the development of written content and ensure that all copy writing activities follow DET's standards and style guides;
  • Oversee the development of visual content, provide expertise and feedback to draft materials in alignment with organizational standards;
  • Drive the development and production of new digital content projects that engage, inspire and educate people about Dubai;
  • Manage strategic relationships with both internal and external stakeholders; facilitate meetings to understand their requests and demonstrate outcomes of content development exercises;
  • Drive the selection of third party providers and agencies for DET's content development needs;
  • Manage long-term third party relationships (e.g. consultants, agencies) during activities related to content development needs.
Managerial Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to setting the department's operational plans and ensure the cascading of such to the employees' individual objectives. Monitor section's performance and issue periodic reports that reflect the overall performance to continually measure overall section's and individual performance against set objectives. Provide formal and informal feedback to optimize the team's performance
  • Provide insight on the development of the section's talent capabilities through proactively assessing existing talent gaps, and providing recommendation to advance the existing skill base
  • Participate in the development and implementation of section's policies and procedures to ensure full adherence to organization's operational standards
Other Responsibilities:
  • Ensure own and subordinate adherence to all relevant environment, health and safety policies and procedures to foster a culture of attention to health and safety that complies with the standards of DET
  • Ensure adherence to all DET Code of Conduct clauses to ensure a positive office environment that fosters respect, professionalism, happiness and transparency. Lead by example and ensure any acts of incompliance with DET code are addressed appropriately
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality by practicing information security protocols and remain abreast on new threats, risks, or breaches of security that can jeopardize own or other colleague's security and confidentiality
  • Comply with and abide by all applicable policies, procedures, guidelines, standards and directives of DET and any of its subordinated entities, as may be amended from time to time.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:
  • University/College Degree in a related field


Minimum Experience:
  • 8+ Years of relevant experience; 4 years of which in a managerial position


Working Conditions:
  • Occasional offsite meeting and visits
