The Diet Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to specific dietary requirements as prescribed by healthcare professionals or nutritionists. The role ensures that food is not only nutritious and meets dietary standards but also appealing and safely prepared in compliance with food safety regulations.
Prepare and cook meals based on specific dietary needs including diabetic, low-sodium, gluten-free, renal, soft food, or allergen-free diets.
Work closely with dietitians and healthcare staff to ensure dietary guidelines are followed accurately.
Ensure portion control, presentation, and nutritional value of meals are maintained.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with HACCP and food safety standards.
Monitor inventory and notify supervisors of needed supplies.
Label and store food appropriately and check expiry dates regularly.
Adapt standard recipes to meet dietary requirements while maintaining taste and nutritional value.
Assist in meal planning and menu preparation as needed.
Healthcare catering experience is mandatory
