Job Summary:

The Crusher Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of crushers, screens, conveyors, and other heavy equipment used in material processing. The role ensures that all machinery operates efficiently and safely to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Maintenance & Repair

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on crushers, screens, conveyors, and related equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in crushing equipment. Replace worn-out parts such as bearings, shafts, belts, pulleys, and hydraulic components. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and address them proactively.

2. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics

Use diagnostic tools and techniques to troubleshoot equipment failures. Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to identify issues. Work closely with operators to understand equipment performance concerns.

3. Safety & Compliance

Adhere to company safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements. Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures before conducting maintenance. Identify and report any safety hazards in the workplace.

4. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, parts used, and equipment status. Report major mechanical failures and recommend corrective actions to supervisors. Assist in maintaining an inventory of spare parts and tools.

5. Operational Support

Work closely with production teams to ensure minimal equipment downtime. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new crushers and related equipment. Provide training to operators on basic maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (Technical certification or diploma in mechanical engineering is a plus). 3+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, preferably in mining, quarrying, or recycling plants. Strong knowledge of crusher components, hydraulics, bearings, and conveyors. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics. Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus. Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in outdoor and dusty environments. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Willingness to work in shifts and respond to emergency breakdowns.

Work Environment:

Exposure to loud noise, dust, and heavy machinery operations. Requires standing, bending, climbing, and working in confined spaces. May require working at heights and in adverse weather conditions.
