Position Overview:



A

Registered Nurse (RN)

provides direct patient care and is responsible for coordinating patient care, administering treatments, and ensuring the overall health and well-being of patients in various healthcare settings. Nurses work in hospitals, clinics, outpatient facilities, nursing homes, and private homes, and may specialize in areas such as pediatrics, geriatrics, emergency care, or critical care. The RN plays a key role in the healthcare team by assessing patients, planning care, and implementing medical treatments as prescribed by physicians. They also educate patients and families about health management and assist in promoting optimal health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:1. Patient Assessment and Care:



Perform initial patient assessments, including taking medical histories, vital signs, and conducting physical exams. Monitor and assess patients' conditions and symptoms, noting any changes in health status. Develop, implement, and evaluate personalized care plans based on patient assessments and physician orders. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring correct dosages, timing, and routes of administration. Provide wound care, including dressing changes and managing IV lines, catheters, and drains. Educate patients and their families about health conditions, medications, treatment plans, and post-care instructions.

2. Coordination of Care:



Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, specialists, and other nurses, to ensure comprehensive patient care. Advocate for patients' needs, ensuring they receive appropriate care and attention. Monitor patient progress and communicate with the healthcare team regarding changes in patient conditions or care requirements. Coordinate patient discharges, ensuring all follow-up care instructions are clear and that patients and families understand the care plan.

3. Documentation and Record-Keeping:



Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient, documenting assessments, treatments, responses, and outcomes. Follow legal and ethical guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations. Document observations, changes in patient conditions, and care activities in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

4. Patient Safety and Infection Control:



Adhere to infection control protocols to reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections. Ensure patient safety by identifying potential risks and hazards and taking appropriate preventative measures. Monitor for side effects or adverse reactions to medications and treatments, reporting them promptly to the healthcare provider. Ensure that all medical equipment is functioning properly and is cleaned and sterilized as needed.

5. Health Education and Counseling:



Provide health education to patients and their families, teaching them about their health conditions, lifestyle modifications, and ways to manage chronic illnesses. Offer emotional support to patients and families, helping them cope with health challenges, and provide resources for additional support services. Promote healthy living and disease prevention through patient education materials and one-on-one counseling.

6. Emergency and Critical Care:



Respond to emergencies, providing life-saving interventions such as CPR, wound care, or stabilization of patients in critical conditions. Work in specialized areas, such as the emergency room, intensive care unit (ICU), or operating room, providing direct care and ensuring patient safety during complex procedures. Assist in the preparation and recovery of patients undergoing surgery or other medical procedures.

Key Skills and Qualifications:Education and Licensure:



Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

from an accredited institution.

DHA Registered Nurse Licensure

: Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state or country of employment. Certification in specialized areas (e.g., ACLS, PALS, CPR) may be required depending on the department or position.

Experience:



Prior clinical experience as an RN in Aesthetics Facility or Hospital in the UAE is an advantage Specialized experience (e.g., emergency room, oncology, pediatrics) may be required for certain roles.

Skills:



Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills to evaluate patient conditions and develop effective care plans. Proficiency in administering medications and treatments, including injections, IVs, and wound care. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, particularly in emergency or critical care settings. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Critical thinking and decision-making abilities to respond to changing patient needs and medical emergencies. High level of empathy and interpersonal skills to provide emotional support to patients and families.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team. Detail-oriented, ensuring patient safety and accuracy in medication administration, documentation, and care protocols.

Working Conditions:



Work Environment:

Registered Nurses can work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, home care, and private healthcare practices. The work environment will vary depending on the healthcare facility and the patient population.

Hours:

Nurses may work long shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as healthcare services operate 24/7. Shifts typically last 8-12 hours.

Physical Demands:

The job can be physically demanding, requiring standing, walking, lifting, and assisting patients with mobility.

Emotional Demands:

Nurses may encounter stressful situations, such as caring for critically ill patients, dealing with family concerns, or responding to medical emergencies.
