The Dewatering Site Engineer is responsible for the planning, installation, operation, and maintenance of dewatering systems at construction sites. This role ensures effective groundwater control to facilitate safe and dry working conditions for excavation and construction activities. The engineer will coordinate with contractors, consultants, and site teams to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the setup, operation, and maintenance of various dewatering systems (e.g., wellpoints, deep wells, sump pumps).
Conduct site investigations and assessments to determine suitable dewatering solutions.
Interpret technical drawings, dewatering layouts, and geological/hydrogeological data.
Monitor water table levels and pumping performance using appropriate measuring instruments.
Ensure proper discharge of water in accordance with environmental and regulatory standards.
Liaise with consultants, geotechnical experts, and subcontractors to optimize system performance.
Troubleshoot operational issues related to pumps, piping, and power supply.
Maintain detailed records of system performance, including flow rates, water levels, and maintenance logs.
Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in dewatering or geotechnical site operations.
Knowledge of groundwater behavior, pump systems, and dewatering methods.
Familiarity with construction site operations and project management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and dewatering design software (optional but preferred).
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Working Conditions:
Field-based role with extended periods on construction sites.
May require working in hot, humid, or rainy conditions depending on location.
Occasional night or weekend work based on project schedule
