JOB DESCRIPTION

Serves as a primary avionics engineer, with experience in parameter analysis, ACMS/AOC/CMF/ACMF databases, SATCOM, ADS-B, weather radar, TCAS, ATC and transponder systems. Performs data analysis and validation for DFDR, FDIMU/DFDAU. Assists with troubleshooting systems, building and maintaining aircraft and component software configurations, and all digital platform interfaces, often working with Flight Operations and Flight Crews.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Maintains and coordinates changes to the aircraft avionics and software configurations to maintain up to date standards and requirements
• Support maintenance in resolving chronic/recurrent aircraft system problems related to Royal Jet owned and managed aircraft.
• Perform comprehensive review of the agreements of aircraft/engine manufacturers, vendors, third-party repair entity, etc. that may be applicable to the aircraft/engines/components and coordinate the same with the aircraft owner for approval and subsequent implementation.
• Provide engineering support to aircraft maintenance and other department with regards to the new system installation or modifications to ensure maximum aircraft reliability, performance, and operation.
• Identify, evaluate, and plan improvements of the aircraft operations associated with aircraft systems, aircraft interiors and passenger convenience items and manage implementation of these improvements.
• Develop and produce an engineering specifications/work packages for the aircraft system upgrade/modifications and interior refurbishment/reconfiguration to meet Royal Jet VVIP/VIP customers\xe2\x80\x99 requirements to improve the aircraft/equipment aesthetics and systems performance.
• Obtain and conduct engineering review of proposals from qualified third-party sub-contractor for aircraft systems/components upgrade and modification taking into considerations new technology and improved aircraft systems, aircraft interior products that are available in the market. Prepare comparative analysis for all completion proposals obtained from sub-contractors and provide recommendation for subsequent management approval.
• Analyse, develop and coordinate issuance of Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approvals and other certification requirements/substantiation for new systems installation, aircraft systems modifications and aircraft cabin interior refurbishment and modifications with the complete supporting documents and individual supplementary certifications.
• Conduct research, engineering review, evaluation of aircraft specification in support of aircraft acquisition for Royal Jet and RJ Customer as requested to have a cost-efficient fleet of airplanes. Conduct survey and review of aircraft specifications to determine best option based on the aircraft performance and operational requirement.
• Works with the maintenance team to develop and document and avionics and electrical system requirements on complex multi- tiered projects
• Coordinates work to analyze and translate avionics requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
• The position requires application of engineering principles to research technical, operational, and quality issues, as well as determining interim and final engineering solutions, and responding to OEM/Vendor and internal questions and reported problems through internal and external communication
• Prepares, creates, reviews and approves engineering documentation in accordance with HA Engineering Standard Operating Procedures and processes. Includes repairs, modifications, alterations and STC\xe2\x80\x99s
• Utilizes technical expertise and practical experience to disposition complex technical issues
• BUDGETS AND QUOTES- capable of constructing a budget and requesting quotes for specific projects, or parts,
• Substantiates repairs/modifications in accordance with industry accepted practices and Federal Aviation Administration applicable requirements
• Reviews documents including CMM\xe2\x80\x99s, Service Letters, Service Bulletins, FARs, CFR\xe2\x80\x99s, Airworthiness Directives, and other manufacturer issued publications
• Ability to read and understand Maintenance Manuals (IPC, AMM, WDM, SSM, TSM, SRM, FIM, etc.) to assist in troubleshooting
• Maintains and updates maintenance manuals, OEM and internal revisions, approve and authorize part master records in TRAX by researching substantiation documentation
• Participates in resolution of design and improvements to maintenance programs & procedures as needed

Skills

• A minimum of 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in maintenance and engineering of which 5 years should have been spent as a Development Engineer
• BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautical) or equivalent degree
• Sound understanding of Aircraft Maintenance including technical publication, documentation, and records, understanding of aircraft systems, power plant and components.
• Full knowledge of air worthiness regulations pertaining Documentation and Certification
• Aviation training preferably related to the Royal Jet operated aircraft types
• General knowledge and exposure of aircraft interiors, avionics, IFE/CMS and related system components and familiarity with vendor equipment and differences, such as emergency equipment, galleys, inserts, lavatories, seats, etc.
• Full knowledge of FAA, EASA, GCAA rules and regulations pertaining Documentation and Certification
