Job Purpose
To support the development of efficient and effective business processes and workflows for the main departments under Financial and Administrative Affairs, which includes Finance, Procurement, Human Resources, Information Technology, Facilities Management and Planning, in addition to other service delivery departments within the University of Sharjah. Also, to drive and lead all business transformation projects and initiatives owned by the VCFAA Office as well as to lead the Business Transformation section to improve and streamline workflows, to support the VCFAA portfolio directors in establishing quality charters and service level agreements, and to identify, articulate and build upon opportunities for cost-savings with the ultimate goal of improving the experience for students, faculty and staff.



Main accountabilities & expectations
  • Lead the development and execution of the university\'s business processes and procedures, and ensure that they align with best practices and UoS\'s strategic objectives.
  • Research and analyze current business processes, operations, systems, policies, and procedures for all departments under the VCFAA, and suggest suitable changes and updates as per best practices and UoS\'s requirements.
  • Establish quality charters and service level agreements for service delivery departments to ensure efficient delivery of their services.
  • Coordinate and communicate with the concerned departments to help them implement business improvement changes, facilitate any required training plans and assist in project tracking and costing.
  • Provide recommendations to the Vice Chancellor/Committee on required systems and how to streamline and automate business processes and tasks, as well as assist in selecting the most suitable and relative enterprise level future driven system.
  • Coordinate with the IT Center the project planning process of the selected Systems and ensure that stakeholders clearly understand all project phases, implementation plans, and each team\'s roles and responsibilities, and supervise all project phases from requirement gathering to implementation and delivery.
  • Establish and implement a reporting, monitoring, and evaluation framework to track all transformation actions, projects, and progress under the VCFAA\'s function.
  • Lead related projects under the VCFAA\'s function that help support and improve the department and the University in general, and supervise the project team ensuring each member completes their work tasks accurately and on time. As well as supervise all project phases from requirement gathering to implementation.
  • Engage with concerned departments to implement business improvement changes, facilitate training plans and facilitate project tracking and costing.
  • Perform risk management analysis for each project to minimize risks and utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution.
  • Monitor day-to-day activities and provide leadership to the section\'s team to build and develop their organizational capabilities, provide them with development opportunities such as training and coaching, and report on their performance.
  • Support the director in the development of the Business Transformation Section\'s KPIs by providing professional input and advice on developing and achieving the relevant KPIs. As well as report on the section\'s progress, and prepare the necessary action plans for the director. In addition to ensuring that each team member has a good understanding of the section\'s KPIs and how their roles impact their achievement.
  • Provide leadership to the team in order to build and develop their organizational capabilities, provide them with development opportunities such as training, coaching, etc., as well as report on their performance.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within UoS by refining and improving business processes and operations (using metrics and research as a guide).
  • Prepare various reports, analyses, and statistics related to the Business Transformation Section when requested.


Required Skills
  • Minimum of Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, IT or MIS or a relevant discipline.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • 12-14 years of UAE experience in a similar role preferably in higher education institutions.
  • A Master\'s degree in Business Administration or Computer Sciences is a plus. Priority to UAE Nationals.
