Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

Road Design Engineer

to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and planning roadways, highways, and related infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and national standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge, CAD proficiency, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare conceptual and detailed road design plans using Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or other design software. Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-sections, grading plans, and earthwork calculations. Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and technical assessments. Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., AASHTO, IRC, or local standards). Coordinate with geotechnical, drainage, and structural engineers. Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and design documentation. Attend project meetings and collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors. Support permitting and regulatory approval processes. Assist in preparing bids and tender documents.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's degree is a plus). Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred. 3-7 years of experience in road/highway design or related civil engineering projects. Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MX Road, OpenRoads, or similar software. Strong understanding of design codes and transportation standards. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.

Preferred Experience:

Experience working with government agencies or on public infrastructure projects. Familiarity with traffic analysis and road safety audits. Knowledge of drainage and utility coordination.

Working Conditions:

Primarily office-based with occasional site visits. May require travel to project locations.
