Job Description

We are a Dubai-based engineering contracting company specialising in infrastructure works. We are in search of a highly-qualified Egyptian National Design Engineer to join our team, with at least 5 years of relevant experience, DM approvals for Piling & Foundation Contracting, and RTA approval.

Key Responsibilities

Design Development & Technical Responsibilities

Develop initial concept designs Develop detailed engineering drawings and specifications using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc. Ensure all drawings comply with Dubai Building Code (DBC), Green Building Regulations, Trakhees, and other relevant authorities (RTA, DEWA, DDA, Etisalat, etc.). Perform accurate load calculations (dead, live, wind, seismic as per UAE seismic zoning). Use software like STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE for structural design ensuring compliance with BS, ACI, or Eurocodes as per DM requirements. MEP Design for underground utilities according to DEWA standards and other CHW standards
Regulatory Compliance & Approval Process

Full awareness of Dubai Municipality eServices (Dubai Building Permits System - DBPS). Knowledge of rules from other authorities like Dubai Civil Defense (DCD), DEWA, RTA, Dubai Development Authority (DDA), Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), Nakheel, Trakhees, TECOM, etc. Maintain up-to-date records of all correspondences and approvals from DM and other authorities. Coordinate NOC applications and approvals from utility providers (Etisalat, DU, DEWA, etc.).
Permit Submission & Follow-Up

Prepare and submit designs and documentation for DM approval. Respond to DM review comments and revise submissions as needed. Follow up persistently with DM engineers to ensure quick approval.
Design Quality Checks and Shop Drawing & As-Built Approval

Implement internal quality control procedures before submission to clients or authorities. Maintain comprehensive design logs, approval status tracking, and revision control. Provide technical support to site engineers during construction. Respond to RFIs (Requests for Information) and design-related queries from the site. Design Revisions During Construction. Modify designs as required due to site conditions or authority feedback. Ensure revised drawings are re-submitted and approved by DM. Assist with preparation and approval of as-built drawings after construction. Attend and lead meetings with clients, architects, consultants, and contractors to resolve design issues. Use BIM tools to ensure coordination between architectural, structural, and MEP elements. Liaising with Authorities
Use of Dubai Municipality Portals

Familiarity with the following platforms is essential: Dubai BPS (Building Permit System) Eng. Accreditation System (for approvals of licensed professionals) eNOC (online coordination system for NOCs)
Legal & Contractual Awareness

Understand legal responsibilities tied to your license as an engineer under Society of Engineers - UAE and Dubai Municipality Engineer Accreditation. Ensure that designs are prepared in accordance with contractual obligations, construction laws, and UAE fire/life safety codes. Mentor junior engineers and CAD technicians, reviewing their work for technical accuracy and compliance.
