We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our innovative automotive engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality automotive parts and accessories, with a strong focus on performance, manufacturability, and aesthetics. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to bring new product ideas from concept to production while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design & Development
A Lead the full lifecycle design and development of automotive components, ensuring they meet functional, aesthetic, and performance standards.
A Generate design concepts, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation using advanced CAD tools.
A Enhance and redesign existing products to improve durability, functionality, cost-efficiency, and visual appeal.
Engineering Analysis & Feasibility
A Conduct engineering analyses including feasibility studies, design reviews, risk assessments, and cost evaluations.
A Ensure all designs align with manufacturability requirements, production timelines, and cost targets.
A Identify optimization opportunities based on test results, user feedback, and production constraints.
Material Selection & Integration
A Work with internal teams to select appropriate materials that meet performance and durability requirements.
A Explore and integrate sustainable or innovative materials aligned with industry advancements.
A Ensure compatibility of materials with manufacturing processes and environmental conditions.
Prototyping, Validation & Testing
A Develop prototypes of engineered components and oversee testing procedures to ensure performance, structural integrity, and safety.
A Analyze test data and implement necessary design revisions or improvements.
A Prepare detailed engineering test reports and documentation.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
A Ensure all designs meet automotive industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality guidelines.
A Collaborate closely with QA/QC and Compliance teams to maintain design integrity and documentation accuracy.
A Support audits, certification processes, and design validation requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
A Work closely with suppliers, technical partners, and third-party vendors to ensure successful component development.
A Participate in supplier meetings to discuss design feasibility, manufacturing challenges, and production solutions.
A Collaborate with internal teams such as R&D, procurement, and production to ensure smooth project execution.
Continuous Improvement
A Identify opportunities for process enhancement within the engineering function.
A Apply lessons learned to improve future project efficiency, quality, and delivery timelines.
A Stay current with automotive technologies, materials, and industry best practices.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (Required).
A 3-5 years of experience in automotive product engineering.
A Hands-on experience working with OEM standards and requirements (Required).
A Strong background in designing automotive components or accessories.
A Proficiency in 3D CAD tools:
o Fusion 360, Creo PTC
o (Optional: NX, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS)
A Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
A Proficient in engineering analysis software and tools used for feasibility, testing, and evaluation.
A Experience in planning, executing, and monitoring engineering projects.
A Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple design tasks simultaneously.
A Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
