We are currently seeking an exceptional Design Director to lead the vision and design development of a landmark Opera House project in Dubai. This is a high-profile, iconic development that blends cultural sophistication with world-class architecture. Interviews are scheduled to take place immediately, and we are seeking profiles urgently. About the Role: As Design Director, you will spearhead the design strategy and creative execution of an ambitious Opera House project. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including world-renowned consultants, to ensure the architectural design meets the highest standards of innovation, cultural significance, and performance functionality. This role demands not just technical excellence, but a deep appreciation of acoustic performance, audience experience, and architectural storytelling. Key Responsibilities: Lead the conceptual and detailed design development of a high-end Opera House from inception to completion. Collaborate with international consultants, acoustic specialists, and technical teams to deliver a world-class cultural venue. Provide strategic design direction while managing timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Review and approve architectural designs, ensuring alignment with vision and functionality. Present design proposals to senior leadership and external stakeholders. Oversee coordination between architecture, interior design, acoustics, and theatre planning. Ideal Candidate Profile: 15+ years of experience in architecture and design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven track record in the design and delivery of iconic cultural venues, ideally including: Opera Houses Theaters (e.g. The Royal Theatre, Globe Theatre, National Theatre NYC) Strong knowledge of acoustics, audience sightlines, and technical theater requirements. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with world-class consultants. Exposure to large-scale civic or cultural projects in Europe, the Middle East, or Asia is highly advantageous. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. Seniority level
