is responsible for providing primary healthcare services with a focus on diagnosing, treating, and managing skin, hair, and nail disorders. This role involves conducting consultations, prescribing treatments, performing minor dermatological procedures, and referring complex cases to specialists when necessary. The GP - Dermatology plays a key role in patient education, disease prevention, and promoting skin health.
1.Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis
Conduct thorough dermatological assessments, including comprehensive history-taking and lifestyle evaluations.
Diagnose common dermatological conditions such as acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, and fungal infections.
Identify and screen for serious dermatologic diseases, including potential malignancies and autoimmune disorders.
Document findings accurately and maintain clear, comprehensive patient records in accordance with DHA/MOH/DOH regulations.
2. Treatment & Minor Procedures
Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to the individual's medical condition, aesthetic goals, and lifestyle.
Prescribe appropriate topical, oral, or injectable medications, ensuring safe and effective use.
Perform non-invasive dermatologic procedures (within scope and training), such as:
Cryotherapy for benign lesions
Skin biopsies for diagnostic evaluation
Minor surgical excisions and suturing
Chemical peels and microdermabrasion (if certified)
Intralesional injections for acne, keloids, or inflammation
Refer complex or chronic dermatological cases to dermatology consultants or relevant specialists as necessary.
3. Aesthetic & Preventive Care
Support the aesthetic team with clinical oversight on skincare-related concerns and appropriate procedural referrals.
Provide expert advice on skin health maintenance, sun protection, anti-aging practices, and skincare routines.
Guide patients on long-term skin care plans and the management of chronic skin conditions.
4. Patient Education & Communication
Educate patients about their skin condition, treatment options, risks, and expected outcomes.
Promote preventive dermatology and encourage lifestyle adjustments to improve skin health and appearance.
Ensure informed consent is obtained prior to any treatment or procedure and address patient questions empathetically.
5. Compliance, Quality & Continuous Improvement
Ensure full compliance with UAE healthcare laws, licensing regulations, and local authority (DHA/DOH/MOH) standards.
Adhere to clinical protocols, infection control guidelines, and patient safety measures.
Maintain strict confidentiality and data protection in line with UAE patient privacy laws.
Continuously update knowledge through participation in CPD programs, clinical training, workshops, and medical conferences.
Education & Experience:
Medical degree (MD or DO) with specialization in Dermatology.
MOH/DHA certification or eligibility in Dermatology
Fluent in Arabic and English
(both written and verbal communication).
