We are seeking an experienced and resourceful individual to support the Project manager in the delivery of waste management services to one of our key clients in Iraq. The individual will be responsible for the management and coordination of all day to day activities across all waste sites associated with the project.
The key duties and responsibilities will include:
Support the Project Manager and provide leadership and guidance to the project team and liaise with the Client
Oversee the mobilisation and demobilisation of personnel and equipment to and from all operating sites
Ensure all personnel are properly trained and fit for duty and necessary documentation are in place for all subcontractors/ suppliers
Ensure equipment has the appropriate calibration and insurance in accordance with applicable regulations and client specifications
Act as a safety leader promoting the desired safety culture on site at all times and the use of Stop Work Authority by all personnel.
Perform routine consistency checks and internal audits to ensure compliance to the
contract/regulations and the integrity, correctness and completeness of the services
Identify problem areas and proactively address issues
Assist the Project manager to improve cost effectiveness, safety and environmental performance of the project
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports in accordance with agreed formats as required by the Client
The successful candidate will have:
Degree/Diploma in Waste Management, Engineering/Science or related field
IOSH/NEBOSH Health & Safety certificate level qualification desirable
Chartered Institute of Waste Management WAMITAB Level 2 Certificate or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in the waste management field, oil and gas operations and/or logistics management
Good working knowledge of national and international waste management regulations in Iraq
Experience in recycling activities and disposal technologies/waste treatment
Prior experience of managing large scale projects involving multiple locations
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
Salary and benefits:
This is a full-time resident position in Iraq (6 day working week) with a salary commensurate with experience.
