The Opportunity

The Deputy Maintenance Manager manages and supports all maintenance activites related to Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL), Advanced Visual Docking Guidance System (V-VDGS), and Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems at Hamad International Airport. This position ensures operational excellence in preventive and corrective maintenance, supports the Asset Replacement Program, and supports stores, inventory management and cost-plus processes in alignment with contractual and safety standards.

Maintenance Operations + Manage the daily execution of preventive and corrective maintenance across AGL, A-VDGS, and MEP systems in full compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
+ Plan, organize, and coordinate the Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP) while directing corrective maintenance activities to ensure best system performance and availability.
+ Ensure all necessary tools, test equipment, and maintenance resources are available, calculated, and properly utilized.
+ Support and contribute to the Asset Replacement Programme by coordinating technical activities, providing field feedback, and ensuring smooth integration with ongoing maintenance operations, including all documentation.
Systems & Processes- + Utilize and maintain the Oracle Maintenance Management System to manage work orders, asset history, and maintenance scheduling.
+ Monitor inventory management processes, including material requests, consumption tracking/trends, and cost-plus sales analysis.
+ Assist the Maintenance Manager with controlling departmental expenditure and identifying opportunities for operational cost efficiencies.
+ Maintain and update maintenance procedures, documentation, and records to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
Quality, Safety & Compliance- + Assist the Maintenance Manager in the implementation and continual improvement of the Quality Control Plan and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) procedures.
+ Ensure all maintenance works adhere to HSE regulations, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems.
+ Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all teams.
Stores & Inventory + Assist the Maintenance Manager in the management of maintenance stores, ensuring adequate stock levels of spare parts, tools, and consumables.
+ Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to ensure prompt replenishment of inventory and avoid stockouts.
+ Aid and support the Stores and Inventory team by conducting regular audits of the stores to verify stock records, find discrepancies, and ensure compliance with company policies.
+ Assist the Stores and Inventory team to monitor and report on inventory usage trends to optimize stockholding and reduce excess or obsolete items.
+ Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and other departments to forecast inventory needs based on planned maintenance activities and projects.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management + Liaise effectively with key stakeholders, including the client, ATC, airport operations, security, and emergency services, to ensure safe and coordinated maintenance activities.
+ Coordinate with subcontractors, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and performance standards.
+ Provide technical input and operational support to other departments and project teams as required.
People Management & Development + Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Technical Officers, Technicians, and supporting personnel across AGL, A-VDGS, and MEP disciplines.
+ Oversee recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and competency development to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.
+ Foster a positive, respectful, and safety-conscious team culture aligned with company values.
+ Ensure proper succession planning and readiness for future technical and operational requirements.
Reporting & Performance- + Support the Maintenance Manager in monitoring and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational performance.
+ Provide analytical input to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
+ Prepare maintenance summaries, technical reports, and cost analyses as required.

The talent we want to inspire has...

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics (or equivalent). Minimum 5-7 years of experience in airport systems maintenance, with a strong background in AGL, A-VDGS, and MEP operations. Strong background in Facilities Management. Experience in dealing with consultants and subcontractors. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence. Excellent written and oral communications skills Adaptability to work in a multinational, multicultural environment. Strong organizing and scheduling skills Ability to manage subcontractors. Cost control and budgeting experience
