Advise, support and guide the HOS and deputies' in his/her absence.
Take collective leadership responsibility for a culture of purpose, discipline and ambition of the school
To lead on the Be A GEM and Leadership Gemstones initiatives and provide guidance and staff CPD to support the full and effective implementation of these programmes.
Produce and maintain up-to-date school policies pertaining to the role
To commit time and leadership for the successful implementation of CIS's School Improvement Plan and to develop division-specific actions for strategic priorities.
Serve as a positive, contributing member to the Secondary Leadership and Whole School Leadership Teams.
Operational
Advice and line manage aspects of the Heads of Year role regarding pupil wellbeing
Oversee standards of personal conduct throughout Secondary School
Use assessment/survey results, PASS, PISA, Be A GEM data, etc. to drive improvement in Student Wellbeing
Ensure effective communication systems exist between classroom teachers and intervention support staff so that classroom teachers are providing differentiated support based on individual student goals and objectives, liaise with the DHSS - Academics wherever necessary.
Liaise with the student information systems manager to ensure data is uploaded into information management system and that the data is easily accessed and read by teachers and senior leaders
Oversee the provision of Student Wellbeing within Secondary School
Oversee/coordinate Enrichment Activities (ECAs, trips, etc.) across the Secondary School
Staff
Involvement with formal complaints, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
Managing the quality and delivery of pastoral CPD, in conjunction with Counsellor
Work in collaboration with the SSLT & House System Lead
Is a member of the Health and Safety and Student Wellbeing Teams
Being visible and involved at FL/HoY meetings
Pupils
Guide students' behavior and character development through policy creation and practice
Monitor students' personal and social/emotional development, attending to changes in personal circumstances, academic progress, and general wellbeing.
Liaise with the Registrar, over the placement of pupils into houses/classes.
Liaise with the HoY and Learning managers over issues relating to pupil welfare.
Advise the Heads of Year on matters pertaining to pupil discipline and progress.
Manage all major disciplinary incidents (suspensions) as appropriate.
Establish good working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
Assist staff with the development and implementation of individual action plans for wellbeing and behavior.
Duties and Responsibilities - General
Model and encourage a culture of kindness in support of the GEMS/CIS core values, especially in regard to Be A GEM and Leadership Gemstone programmes.
Demonstrate role-model traits that enable others to recognize the DHSS as a leader of educators
Communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, parents, colleagues and in the community

Expected Qualifications:
College Degree
Teacher Training qualification
Expected Experience:
Minimum 10 years in Reputed schools.
Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:
Clear communication skills verbal & written.
Strong ICT skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
