Job Description

The job holder is primarily responsible for the record keeping of patient information into the data base system of the center. Update, maintain and retrieve information held on computer systems and prepare source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information.

A.

Data Entry

Enter information of new patient to the system. Preparing and sorting data for computer entry. Reviewing data to make sure it's accurate before entering it in the system. Entering data from dental assistant paper notes to a computer data entry system. Establishes entry priorities. Answers telephone calls in the treatment room where they are assigned. Processes patient documents by reviewing data for deficiencies. Resolves deficiencies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the Senior Dental Assistant for resolution. Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures. Ascertains that patient treatment information is complete and correct. Double check for any duplicated patient data and raise to Senior Dental Assistant for deletion/rectification. Maintains patient's confidentiality and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

B.

Reporting

Coordinate with insurance department for any errors or duplicate entries Maintains operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.

Qualifications:

With at least 2 years of experience in Dental Field Familiar with dental coding or dental documentation Ability to work in a pressurized work environment Knowledge in using Dental EMR is a plus Knowledge in Medical Transcription is a must
