As part of our continuous Digital Transformation journey, the Al Futtaim group is starting up a new Digital & Analytics business to be named 'Blue' and we are currently seeking an experienced Data technology professional to join the organization in the capacity of 'Data Solution Expert'.

Role purpose

Responsible for carrying out activities related to Data Implementation. To represent Enterprise IT (EIT) to specific lines of business (LOB) in terms of managing demand, implementation and support for Data. This person will act as the key representative for EIT Data to respective LOB's.

Responsibilities:

• Sets, communicates and holds self and others accountable for delivery of stretching, short-term work objectives
• Continuously reviews and acts to remove obstacles to achieving progress.
• Carefully applies the expertise of self and others to deliver specific short-term work objectives.
• Ensures the effective co-ordination of technology and processes to achieve short-term work objectives
• Identifies concrete solutions to non-routine problems within a framework of existing products, processes, systems or knowledge
• Takes decisive action based upon a technical or professional analysis of different situations.
• Identifies and proposes modifications to existing routines or processes to deliver better performance and service
• Makes agreed changes to existing routines and processes happen.
• Adapts influencing style and behaviour to deliver short-term results, when dealing with different situations, cases, individuals or teams.
• Uses personal technical and/or professional know-how to gain commitment to short-term objectives.
• Focuses on the needs of specific customers and seeks to resolve their issues and concerns.
• Maintains effective working relationships with a prescribed set of external suppliers.
• Design, architect, implement and test rapid prototypes that demonstrate value of the data and present them to diverse audiences

Candidate requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

Education

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum Experience and Knowledge:

• 15+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Support environment (minimum 12)
• 5+ years of experience in a professional senior technical role such as technical lead, team lead or other hands-on leadership role ideally for a major organization, consultancy or system integrator (minimum 5)
• 5+ years of partner/vendor management from a Product and System integrator perspective
• 3+ years of 3rd Party Platform Management (SAAS)
• Knowledge on either business domains like Retail, Automotive, Finance, Real Estate, Group services (HR, Marketing, Finance etc.)

Technical Skills

• Big Data Technologies
• Messaging Platform like Solace, Kafka, etc
• Knowledge on Reporting Tools like Tableau, etc
• Knowledge on Cloud Computing, Customer Data Marts
• Real-Time Model Recommendation for Mobile / eCommerce
• Knowledge on CDP Implementation
• ETL Frameworks
• NoSQL Database like MongoDB, etc
• Data Governance Platforms like Collibra, Ovaledge, etc
• Knowledge on API / Microservice Implementation
• Analytical Knowledge on working with unstructured datasets
• Knowledge on SAP BI / BW, HANA is preferred
• Data Integration with mobile, digital e/commerce

Job-Specific Skills:

• Good knowledge of the software development lifecycle and the process tools for Data deliverables
• Solution design and implementation experience on analytical programs/demands
• Demand and support management in a dynamic environment
• Advanced working knowledge and experience with relational and non-relational databases
• Experience building and optimizing Big Data - data pipelines, architectures and data sets
• Managing Delivery and support teams of up 10-20 people
• Data integration experience from multiple systems including ERP/CRM/BI/POS systems
• Enterprise Architecture including solution architecture, data flow architecture, integration architecture.
• Team Player - An effective team player needs to have strong collaboration skills. He/she should be pro-active in taking initiatives and influencing others.
• Behavioral: - Excellent analytical and communication skills - Knowledge in problem/change management process - Should be a team player and work across various Teams - Ability to provide coaching & knowledge transfer to team members, including ensuring that resources have proper understanding of the System landscape and technologies
• Sound industry trends awareness
• Problem-solver and innovative
