Job Description

A leading financial services organization undergoing a major data transformation initiative is seeking experienced Data Modelers to join its data function as it executes an extensive 2026 data roadmap. You will play a critical role in building and strengthening the organization's data architecture as it transitions from legacy Hadoop & SQL environments to a modern cloud-based Lakehouse architecture on AWS.
This is an opportunity to work on a transformational data initiative within a banking environment, focusing on creating robust, business-aligned data models that support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop logical and conceptual data models that align with business requirements and banking operations
• Translate complex datasets into clear, structured data models that support analytics and reporting
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Document data models, data flows, and data relationships comprehensively
• Ensure data models support the organization's semantic data layer strategy
• Work within AWS-based data architecture environments to implement and validate data models
• Maintain high standards for data quality, consistency, and governance
• Partner with data engineers to ensure models are implemented effectively

Required Qualifications
Essential:

• Proven hands-on experience in data modeling (business-oriented, not deeply technical)
• Strong understanding of data from both business and banking perspectives
• Mandatory experience working within the banking sector
• Ability to interpret complex datasets and translate them into logical, scalable data models
• Strong logical reasoning skills around datasets, data relationships, and business logic
• Familiarity with AWS-based data architectures and cloud environments
• Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Highly Preferred:

• Experience in fintech or payments domains
• Knowledge of data warehousing and centralized data management
• Understanding of semantic data layers and data governance frameworks
