Role Summary
The Data Lake Engineering AVP will own the full lifecycle of an Oracle Cloud Data Platform implementation. The role defines target architecture, leads delivery planning, aligns with core banking programs, and ensures high-quality data ingestion and distribution to on-premises and Azure environments while upholding governance and compliance.
Core Duties

• Define and finalize platform architecture in partnership with Oracle professional services and internal stakeholders
• Build program plans with milestones, dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines; track to closure
• Act as primary liaison across data engineering, infrastructure, security, and business teams
• Coordinate closely with core banking delivery to integrate transactional and analytical data flows
• Oversee ingestion from Oracle-based core systems into Oracle Cloud data lake and lakehouse layers
• Establish robust pipelines to deliver curated data to downstream consumers on-premises and in Azure
• Enforce enterprise data governance, quality rules, lineage, cataloging, and access controls
• Monitor implementation quality, resolve issues, and drive mitigation for program risks
• Champion Agile ways of working, sprint rituals, and continuous improvement across teams
• Produce executive updates, dashboards, and documentation for audit and handover

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or related field
• 10 plus years overall experience with 5 plus years leading data lake, data warehouse, or data lakehouse programs
• Proven delivery of large-scale cloud data platforms, preferably on Oracle Cloud
• Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, cloud integration patterns, and banking systems
• Hands-on knowledge of hybrid cloud models spanning Oracle Cloud, Azure, and on-premises
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to brief senior IT and business leaders
• Experience working in Agile environments with clear metrics and governance

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• Data engineering background with Python or SQL exposure and ETL-ELT best practices
• Certification in data lake or data warehouse technologies on Oracle Cloud or Azure
• Familiarity with data quality, metadata management, and compliance frameworks
