The Data Application Manager Retail plays a critical role in strengthening and optimizing data management and analytics capabilities across Al-Futtaim's retail businesses in Dubai. This role acts as a bridge between retail business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring that data platforms, applications, and analytics solutions are reliable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. The position supports data-driven decision making by enabling high-quality data integration, KPI reporting, and scalable analytics solutions across multiple retail systems.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement data application solutions aligned with retail business objectives and digital transformation priorities.
Collaborate closely with retail stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions.
Manage the design, development, deployment, and support of data applications using Azure-based platforms and services.
Ensure seamless integration of data from multiple retail systems into centralized data platforms.
Define business and operational KPIs and deliver interactive dashboards for analytics and reporting.
Monitor, optimize, and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and application performance to ensure reliability and efficiency.
Implement best practices for scalability, cost optimization, and performance across Azure environments.
Enforce robust data security standards, including identity management, access controls, and compliance with group policies.
Support data science and AI initiatives by enabling high-quality, well-governed data for advanced analytics and machine learning use cases.
Lead and mentor a lean, high-performing team of data engineers, BI developers, and analysts.
Maintain and operationalize the data catalog, metadata management, and business glossary to support data governance.
Oversee day-to-day retail data operations and ensure service continuity and quality.
Ideal Profile
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Minimum 12 years of experience in data engineering and analytics, including solution implementation, transformation, and support.
Strong understanding of retail business processes and data requirements.
Extensive experience with Azure-based data platforms and tools including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, MS Fabric, SQL, Python, and PySpark.
Hands-on expertise in data modeling, data architecture, and data design best practices.
Experience working with SAP retail solutions such as S/4, SAP BW, and SAP BO.
Skills Set
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a structured and detail-oriented approach.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work across business and IT teams.
Proficiency in BI and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx.
Proven ability to manage complex retail data projects and drive organizational change through data initiatives.
Leadership skills with experience in team development, mentoring, and delivery management.
