About the Role



As a Culinary Intern, you will have the opportunity to be fully immersed in the Culinary Department and hotel outlets (e.g. Sofra bld Restaurant, Afya Restaurant, Shang Palace Restaurant, Pool Bar / Amalfi, Banquet, Lobby Lounge, and Private Dining), learning at different levels of responsibility, and working with a team. You will also provide excellent customer service, maintaining high standards of hospitality and guest satisfaction.



Key Responsibilities



Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to recipes/menu as per the Shangri-La standards and policy.

Cook food and prepare top-quality menu items in a timely manner, test food to ensure proper preparation and temperature, and operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.

Ensure the proper sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces and storage containers including food safety practices and guidelines.

Collaborate with colleagues to keep excellent service standards and be prepared to assist other Shangri-La colleagues/departments in a thoughtful manner.

Empathetically listen to client queries/complaints and work with colleagues/management to find solutions



About You



Maintains a growth mindset and willingness to learn the skills and knowledge of culinary.

Great teamwork skills, attention to detail, efficient, punctual, and flexible to work on a shifting schedule, weekends and holidays.

Warm, friendly, can-do attitude, and the desire to always deliver the Shangri-La experience.

High School, Diploma, and/or Hospitality graduate would be preferred.

Previous customer service and/or Culinary experience in luxury hospitality/customer service is a plus.

Lives and breathes the Shangri-La culture.
