Job Description

Copper and Gold project in Wilayat of Yanqul in Ad Dhahirah governorate with an area of about 370 sq.km. It is 260 km far from Muscat and 140 km from Suhar. The project consists of five copper and gold mines, a processing plant, a camp, and all associated infrastructure.

We are currently recruiting a talented Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) Lead. We are looking for someone with passion and drive who is highly organized and can ensure that high standards of quality are maintained.

The CSA Lead Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the engineering and construction work for all civil,structural and architectural disciplines for our EPCM project. As CSA lead, you are responsible for managing our consultants and contractors through all phases of a project lifecycle. You will be responsible for reaching cost and time efficient design solutions for all CSA.

As the CSA Lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and functionality of our mining facilities. You will lead a team, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure that our projects meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency

Job duties: 1. Manage the work of consultant for CSA engineering and construction.

2. Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.

3. Identify opportunities for design improvements that could benefit project cost and schedule.

4. Coordinate work and key technical deliverables within a multidiscipline team environment.

5. Develop or select engineering standards, design criteria and procedures to ensure that quality, schedule, and cost requirements are met and consistent.

6. Oversee the implementation of advanced civil/structural engineering solutions for complex projects.

7. Provide leadership and guidance on developing engineering strategy and concepts.

8. Support and review analysis and design of concrete foundations and steel structures, as well as layout drawings, concrete formwork and rebar.

9. Participate in the preparation of specifications, structural analysis and design, calculations, seismic design, tender packages, bill of materials and material take-off.

10. Review and comment on and approve drawings, 3D models and documents related to his field of activity and within other disciplines.

11. Manage civil/structural construction phase.

12. Liaise with consultants, contractors, vendors, and address site queries.

13. Review and approve quality control plans provided by construction contractors.

14. Ensure the project scope is clear, and that changes comply with project change management processes.

15. Identifying and mitigating project risks.

16. Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures.

17. Provide assistance during procurement and commissioning activities.

18. Participate and contribute to site walk downs, projects meetings design reviews, disposition, and incorporation of internal and external review comments.

19. Ensure adherence to government, organization, and customer engineering standards and procedures.

20. Pursue and drive a culture of zero harm and ensure all aspects of the work are completed in adherence to the Safety, Health, Security and Environmental standards and systems.

21. Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree in civil or Structural engineering.

Master's degree would be considered an asset.

Experience:

15+ years of industrial experience.

10+ years experience in civil/structural design and construction of mining projects.

Special Skills & Knowledge:

- Technical Skills:

Extensive experience in working with EPCM consultants.

Highly developed knowledge of industrial scale steel and concrete structures.

Expertise on design and construction of concrete, steel structures, masonry, and wood framed structural such as heavy equipment foundations, industrial buildings, pipe racks, platforms, etc., as applicable in the mining industry.

Requisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of civil/structural design codes,standards, and applicable building codes.

Good understanding of topographical, geophysical and geotechnical issues.

Expertise in civil/structural engineering design software; AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, SAP2000, Tekla.

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.

- Soft Skills:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.

Ability to build positive relationships and develop support from a wide variety of stakeholders.

Ability to plan, coordinate, organize and manage a team at an advanced level.

Ability to lead, motivate and inspire others, transfer expertise, and provide a coaching role to others in terms of best practice.

Ability to handle complex problem-solving tasks, applying appropriate analysis and consideration of high-level technical detail.

Ability to write documents, such as reports, papers, detailed letters and emails.

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
