Job Purpose
The Crew Chief - Firefighting is responsible for the organization and direction of the volunteer fire department in order to ensure that loss of life, property, or injury as a result of fire is prevented and/or minimized.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and implement all firefighting policies and procedures in accordance with municipal ordinances, state law, and federal laws and regulations.
• Recruit, train and direct the activities of volunteer firefighters in order to ensure that trained firefighters are available in the event of a fire.
• Inspect firefighting equipment in order to ensure appropriate equipment is available as required.
• Takes command in the event of a fire in order to ensure a safe, effective and controlled response.
• Complete administrative tasks as required.
• Ensure assigned safety emergency response personnel, vehicles, and equipment are operational and available.
• Direct and control fire attack, confinement, salvage, overhaul, ventilation, and rescue activities, using logic and reasoning to identify options, solutions, or approaches to situations.
• Assess and document initial conditions of emergency scene and provide information to supervisor for required reports.
• Resolve minor administrative and personnel issues and refer major situations Safety Emergency Supervisor.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Ideally will have to work 12-hours per shift.
• Conducting facility inspection as required.
• Conduct stand-by activities as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum (2) years of experience in Initial Safety Response Team.
• Prefer associate\xe2\x80\x99s degree in fire science management, emergency management, public administration, or associated discipline.
• International Initial Safety Response Team Accreditation, Fire Officer I, Fire Inspector I, Fire Instructor I, or equivalent. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) qualified
• Should speak Arabic and English
