The Crane Operator (Storage) is responsible for handling steel materials--such as bars, billets, bundles, and coils--in storage yards and loading/unloading zones. The role requires safe operation of overhead cranes, accuracy in material movement, and coordination with yard and logistics teams.
Key Responsibilities
Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and stack steel materials in storage areas.
Load and unload materials from trucks, conveyors, or production lines.
Ensure materials are placed accurately and safely in designated storage zones.
Inspect lifting accessories and crane components prior to each shift.
Follow safe operating procedures and respond to signals from ground personnel.
Maintain operation logs and report equipment issues immediately.
Support inventory teams by ensuring proper material organization.
Assist during shutdowns, breakdowns, and heavy lifting tasks.
Requirements
Certified crane operator or equivalent training.
2-3 years of experience
operating overhead cranes in steel plants, ports, or warehouses.
Ability to understand lifting limits, safety standards, and load balancing.
Good communication with ground teams and ability to interpret hand signals.
Physically fit and comfortable working in hot industrial environments.
Willingness to work shifts and extended hours as required.
