The Cover Teacher ensures continuity of learning in the absence of regular teachers by delivering engaging lessons, maintaining classroom discipline, and supporting student progress.
Key Responsibilities:1. Teaching & Learning
Deliver engaging lessons aligned with the school's "Amazing Learning" principles.
Use assessment tools to monitor student progress and address learning gaps.
Encourage critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and the use of technology.
2. Classroom Environment
Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
Build strong relationships with students and parents.
Ensure compliance with the school's display and environment policy.
3. Assessment & Student Progress
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
Track progress using AfL strategies and summative assessments.
Adapt teaching methods based on student needs and performance.
4. Professional Development & Collaboration
Engage in ongoing professional growth and peer learning.
Support TAs and LSAs in their roles within the classroom.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor or Master Degree in Education
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
MOE approval (or ability to obtain it).
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Commitment to continuous professional development.
