Job Description

Schedule: Full-time Role Responsibilities Strategy Drive the country real estate strategic planning for Property to ensure the long term occupancy plans for our property portfolio are aligned with business direction. Act as the main interface between Property and business unit clients at country level in order to manage and lead real estate strategic planning. Implement portfolio management metrics that illustrate the financial performance of the property assets. Implement models to link business and real estate strategy to forecast supply and demand for space and developing master and strategic plans for utilisation and development potential of land and/or buildings with the bank's property portfolio for the country. Work with both Property project management to ensure the real estate strategies and plans are correctly delivered Business Contribute to the development of new business initiatives. Undertake real estate due diligence reviews as and when required for potential new business acquisition Processes Implement property plans in alignment with agreed strategies. Approve BAU operating costs within delegated authority. Contribute capital expenditure plan. Evaluate country sourcing strategies and agree with regional head. Property Procurement and supply arrangements in cooperation with SCM People & Talent Manage Country Property team and provide technical support as necessary Security Manage the implementation of Group Security Operating standards. Oversee protection of all staff, property and assets against all risks on 24/7/365 basis. Provide advice to the Chief Executive Officer, Country CMT, business heads and department/branch managers on all aspects of personal and business protection. Prepare periodic reports and returns for Group Security, for submission through the Regional Head of Security. Manage the implementation of security and safety awareness training programs in the country. Implement security risk assessment and review programs, ensuring timely identification of threats and the development of cost-effective security counter measures. Publish, implement and maintain contingency plans for bomb threats, robbery, and other emergency situations that are likely to affect the country or business. Produce annual budget figures for security and fire safety equipment to be included in the country budget. Risk Management Ensure country team compliance with all group policies, procedures and standards. Ensure country team compliance with all legislative requirements. Develop and agree country level service level agreements prior to presentations to the businesses. Assume overall responsibility for the effective implementation of the GPMS ensuring the capture of global property data country, address, type, use and tenure and populate costs across the country portfolio. Ensure operational risks are highlighted and resolved at country level and attend CORC if needed. Ensure all property insurance data is captured and accurately reported using the insurance module of GPMS Ensure all other databases are properly populated in a timely way such as, lifecycle replacement, space utilisation. Understand and manage the financial implications of country Property activity and be able to explain to senior managers at CMG and Property regional levels. Governance To implement country security management plan for Oman to ensure compliance with Group Security Operating Standards, Group Security policies, fire safety and non-IT information security policies. To ensure that local regulations on safety and security are adhered to Manage the implementation of Group Security Operating standards. Regulatory & Business Conduct Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct. Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct. Lead the property & Security team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.] Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters. Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association (or equivalent) Key stakeholders Internal Chief Executive, Oman Chief Information Officer, Oman Oman CMT and Crisis Management Team Regional Head of Security, AME Country Heads of Security throughout Middle East & Africa, other Senior Managers in Group Security Other relevant support functions like branch and department managers Regional Head Property AME Regional Head FM AME Regional Head BCP AME Regional Head Health and Safety Head of Security Mace Macro External Police Government Departments Security consultants Counterparts in other financial institutions Security Companies Security System Contractors Other Responsibilities Investigate minor breaches to protective and information security such as robberies, office theft and vandalism to endeavour to identify the culprit and reveal any security weaknesses. Ensure security requirements by local authorities are always met. Ensure healthy and strong relationships are maintained with local authorities including but not limited to central bank, local police, fire brigade etc. Always remain flexible and available to provide security assistance to SCB staff anywhere in the country. Our Ideal Candidate Qualifications Relevant Experience and degree (3 - 5 years) Role Specific Competencies Extensive facilities management experience gaining in a "blue chip" corporate environment Good knowledge of protective security, fire protection, information security and crisis management with the ability to achieve professional and educational accreditation A thorough in-depth knowledge and understanding of the local Rules & Regulations set up by authorities & adhering to these rules and regulations Strategic thinker combined with a high degree of pragmatism The ability to work independently under tight deadlines and with a high degree of initiative Excellent leadership skills and team management experience Proven track record of delivering excellence through their leadership and communication skills About Standard Chartered We're an international bank, nimble enough to act, big enough for impact.
