MISSION

The Cost controller oversees all tasks related to the review and optimization of the cost and revenue taking place in our Dubai Regional Office scope. In this mission. Scope of responsibility requires the Controller to have a strong sense of organization, planning, and flexibility. All work is to be performed in constant collaboration with regional departments and management, as well as Agencies within the scope and Head Office.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the regional OPEX performances through forecasts and actuals
  • Find initiatives to optimize Extra cost and generate revenues in collaboration with the regional departments (Operations, Logistics, Intermodal, Trade, Commercial) and the Agency network
  • Assess and Follow the Financial impacts
  • Participate in the development of a new operational setup with Lines, Feeders, Terminals, and Inland providers to improve our Group margin
  • Build collaboration with the management as well as internal and external partners for the digitalization of the department.
  • Work transversally within the Finance department and with HO Transformation teams to improve the efficiency of our activity.
  • Follow up on monthly basis, and in collaboration with each Agency, the achievements of the Cost & Revenue initiatives
  • Ensure that achievements align with yearly targets communicated by all HO/RO departments.
  • Animate Cost Reviews and workshops with GM / CFOs / Cost Control managers of all Agencies.
  • Perform Cost Control missions in the network

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business administration, Finance, and/or Accounting degree. At least 3 to 5 years of experience in the shipping industry, Audit, or Financial control.
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Self-driven and independent
  • Detailed oriented and good with numbers
  • Multi-tasks oriented
Language Ability: Good knowledge of written and spoken English; Arabic and/or French is a plus

Computer Skills: Strong grasp of Microsoft Office programs like, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
