Cost Controller
Job Summary:
The Cost Controller is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling the project budget. They track all costs, forecast final costs, and report on the project's financial health, providing early warning of potential budget overruns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the project's Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).
- Establish the project baseline budget and control budgets for all cost elements.
- Track, analyze, and report all committed, actual, and forecast costs.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts.
- Calculate and report cost performance indicators (CPI, CV) and earned value.
- Identify and analyze cost variances and investigate their root causes.
- Review and validate contractor/vendor invoices against progress and commitments.
- Prepare regular cost reports and forecasts for project management.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or Quantity Surveying.
- 7+ years of experience in project cost control, preferably in an EPC or construction environment.
- Proficiency in cost control software and advanced Excel skills.
- Understanding of earned value management (EVM) principles.
