Develop and maintain accurate cost estimates based on design specifications and drawings.
Prepare detailed project budgets covering labor, materials, equipment, and overheads.
Provide ongoing cost forecasts and identify opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation.
2. Cost Monitoring & Reporting
Monitor actual project costs against approved budgets and highlight variances.
Generate regular cost reports for senior management and stakeholders.
Conduct project audits to ensure adherence to cost control procedures and identify inefficiencies.
3. Financial Tracking & Analysis
Analyze cost data to support informed project decision-making.
Adjust budgets to reflect project scope changes.
Collaborate with procurement and contracts teams to validate purchase orders, invoices, and subcontractor payments.
4. Risk Management
Assess financial risks from scope changes or unforeseen events.
Develop cost mitigation strategies, including vendor negotiations and alternative solutions.
Maintain accurate documentation for all cost changes, including change orders and work requests.
5. Cost Control Procedures & Systems
Implement and maintain standardized cost control procedures and policies.
Utilize advanced cost control software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Excel) to track and manage cost data.
Create and maintain project cost templates, dashboards, and reports.
6. Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to integrate cost control measures into project execution.
Participate in project meetings to provide financial input and support decision-making.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all financial queries and reporting requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years' experience in cost control or financial management within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction cost control methodologies, project budgeting, and financial reporting.
Advanced proficiency in cost management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, Microsoft Excel, etc.).
Thorough understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost estimation techniques.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
High attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management and financial oversight.
