Cost Accountant

Job Description

The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing and controlling cost information to support decision-making and ensure the financial efficiency of manufacturing and contracting operations. The role involves monitoring cost structures, preparing cost reports, and collaborating with estimation, operations and project teams to control expenditures and improve profitability.

Key Responsibilities:



Develop, implement, and maintain standard cost accounting systems. Analyze cost variances between actual and standard costs and report key findings to management. Monitor raw material, labor, and overhead costs to ensure they align with budgets and forecasts. Prepare cost impact analysis for changes in material prices, labor rates, or manufacturing methods. Work closely with the production team to track production costs, scrap, waste, and inventory levels. Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and ensure accurate valuation of inventory (raw materials, WIP, and finished goods). Assist in inventory audits and recommend improvements in inventory control processes. Develop project costing models to capture and report all costs associated with contracting projects (materials, labor, subcontractors, equipment, etc.). Monitor and track project budgets versus actuals to support timely corrective actions. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate cost estimations and forecasts. Prepare regular cost reports, dashboards, and margin analysis to support strategic decisions. Assist in preparing management reports, financial statements, and cost-related disclosures. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and relevant tax regulations. Review cost breakdown received from the estimation department of every quotations and make sure the approved margin patters has been followed.

Qualifications and Requirements:



Professional certification such as CMA or CA Intermediate or CMA intermediate

Experience:



Minimum 3years of relevant experience in cost accounting within manufacturing or contracting sectors. Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, job costing, and inventory valuation.

Skills:



Proficient in ERP systems (Odoo or Oracle) and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Education:

Master's (Preferred)
Experience:

* as cost accountant in contracting or Manufacturing company: 3 years (Preferred)
