Corporate Communications Manager

Job Description

  • Develop a strategic communications plan for each area of responsibility to ensure maximum visibility for the relevant region, internal department, business unit, and stakeholder.
  • Set strong KPls to measure success and outcomes for activities
  • Drafting press releases, statements, emergency responses, social media posts, C-Suite and senior staff presentations and speeches as directed to promote, protect and enhance Qatar Airways global brand presence
  • Managing a specific region, internal department, business unit, and stakeholder — and developing and delivering its specific communications strategy implementation to ensure that the unit's communication goals are met. With respect to the above, build relationships with key media and social media influences to enable the seeding and development of key stories and features that showcase and deliver on a high volume of earned media to promote the respective internal unit
  • Handle all traditional media and social media inquiries in a sensitive, timely and appropriate manner to promote and protect the reputation of Qatar Airways across all media channels, including securing internal validation by all key/appropriate stakeholders
  • Collate, review and distribute relevant media and corporate information on the latest news about the airline, the industry and the competition to all key internal stakeholder departments, and provide detailed reports on the performance of QR media outreach and press activities and stories.
  • Attend all new destinations, air shows, events, FAM trips and as directed media engagement projects, and to manage the media at those events to ensure that we promote the QR brand image, answer all media inquiries in a way that enhances the company reputation and promotes the core messages; deflect and minimise all negative issues and questions through sensitive handling of the situation, and help generate positive coverage of QR through these media engagements
  • Manage any PR agencies as assigned to ensure that also deliver on their specific KPls.
Skills REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE 1. Minimum Qualification: - min Diploma / Bachelor's level or equivalent 2. Minimum Experience:
  • Minimum 6 years relevant working experience
3. Job Specific Skills: - Superior spoken and written English skills. - Must be a confident communicator and presenter. - Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design. - Professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including ability to resent concepts verbally.
