Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled

Core Network Technician

to support day-to-day operations, provision activities, preventive and corrective maintenance, and fault rectification across Core Network elements including

DWDM

,

OTN

,

IP-Core nodes

, and

GPON

infrastructure.
The role involves working closely with senior engineers to ensure stable network performance, quick fault resolution, and accurate documentation.

Key ResponsibilitiesProvisioning & Maintenance

Perform routine provisioning, maintenance, and fault rectification on

DWDM

,

OTN

,

IP-Core

, and

GPON

network elements. Support senior engineers in handling major or non-routine tasks as required. Carry out prescribed testing procedures using standard test equipment.

Fault Management

Monitor, analyze, and resolve faults reported by NOC teams. Escalate major or recurring issues to supervisors for further review. Use craft terminals and test tools to localize and identify equipment faults. Assist in locating and clearing fiber junction and F.O cable network faults. Participate in call-out duties and emergency response when required.

Operational Support

Support site maintenance activities including mobilization, materials handling, acceptance testing, and spare parts utilization. Assist with the repair and return process for faulty hardware and cards. Maintain updated records, logs, and documentation in the department database. Take responsibility for equipment assigned within the designated area.

Coordination & Compliance

Assist with fixed asset variation clearance and documentation. Coordinate with administrative teams for access approvals, site permissions, and related requirements. Support the preparation of monthly timesheets and operational reports.

New Installations & Acceptance

Attend ATP (Acceptance Testing Procedure) for new nodes and network expansions. Verify ACL (Access Control List) and maintenance-related requirements before handover. Support acceptance of newly installed ODFs and junction cables across the network.

Learning & Development

Continuously update knowledge of new technologies and equipment introduced to the core network environment.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field. Experience with

DWDM, OTN, IP-Core, GPON

, or fixed network infrastructure is preferred. Basic understanding of fiber optics, transmission systems, and network testing tools. Ability to conduct standard testing, troubleshooting, and equipment handling. Willingness to participate in field work, call-outs, and emergency assignments.

Pay: AED8,600.00 - AED11,200.00 per month
