Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:
Support the Finance Management in controlling the General Accounts activities which include, but not limited to, financial statements preparation and reporting, analysing financial data related to strategic projects, preparing and reviewing the financial statements, and facilitating the auditing process to meet the financial reporting requirements in line with the Company\'s objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
General Accounts Control
  • Prepare and review the financial statements in compliance with the IFRS standards, operating agreements, policies, laws and regulations to reflect the Company\'s financial position.
  • Assess the applicability of the IFRS standards and accordingly prepare the relevant reports for management decision making.
  • Review controls over financial reporting, assess existence and effectiveness and implement improvements.
  • Analyse financial data related to strategic projects which include, but not limited to, mergers, acquisitions, divestment, integration, and cost optimization.
  • Lead the development of accounting and financial projects in line with the contractual obligations to capitalize the project on a timely basis.
  • Review the accounting entries related to back charges and cost allocation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review legal agreements related to services provided by the Company (either to Group Companies or external parties).
  • Coordinate potential financial negotiations with service recipients and the Company\'s Legal Department to formalize financial charges.
  • Prepare financial materials to be presented by Finance management to the audit committee, other finance committees, board of directors and the annual general meeting.
  • Liaise with the external auditors to ensure timely completion of the quarter and the annual financial audit for the Annual General Meeting approval.
  • Provide recommendations on enhancing the existing General Accounts business processes to meet the end users\' requirements.
  • Prepare financial analytical reports to the shareholders, as required, related to the decommissioning, depreciation, and other financial queries in line with the operating agreements.
Supervision
  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective functional objectives.
Budgets
  • Provide input for preparation of the functional budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver functional objectives.
  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control
  • Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
  • Implement approved Section / Team / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Performance Management
  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the function in line with the Company Performance framework.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC GAS Code of Practices.
Reports
  • Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management.
COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal
  • Contacts with the Department Manager, team members, and Chief Financial Officer as required.
  • Other employees within the Finance Function and other Divisions on matters related to policies and processes as required.
Auditors.
External
  • Contacts with counterparts in ADNOC GAS Group Companies.
External Auditors.
  • QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, MBA or Professional Certification in a related educational discipline.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
  • 8 years of progressive experience in financial statutory reporting, auditing and financial accounting within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry or a public listed company.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in IFRS accounting standards and practices.
  • Experienced in coordinating the closing of monthly general ledger, including
  • the preparation of the financial statements, consolidated reporting, cash flow forecasts
  • and monthly financial statement forecasting.
  • COSO certified and experienced in internal controls over financial reporting, and financial policies to ensure conformance and compliance to laws and statutory requirements.
  • Experienced in performing ad hoc financial modelling to support existing and new business decisions
  • Experienced in supervisory role with strong leadership skills in delivering results
  • Experience in statistical analysis of significant balance sheet accounts including accruals.
  • Working experience in improving the financial performance.
  • Experience in technical report writing.
  • Excellent skills in advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and other IT applications relevant to the job.
  • Previous experience in Hyperion and SAP is an asset.
  • Excellent in strategic thinking, communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, presentation, task prioritization, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to details and strong work ethics.
Professional Certifications
  • Professional Qualification such as CPA, CA, CMA, CIMA (Preferable).
