Job Title: Contracts and Technical Compliance officer
Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
The Contracts Lead will oversee the full lifecycle of contractual engagements supporting strategic business objectives within the aerospace and defense sector. This role is essential in ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, mitigating risk, and enabling business growth through technically sound and commercially viable agreements. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in defense contracting, aerospace industry norms, and a deep understanding of complex technical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement contract management processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of contracts, including sales agreements, partnership agreements, NDAs, and service contracts.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., legal, finance, sales, and operations) to ensure contracts align with business objectives and risk management policies.
Identify and mitigate contractual risks, recommending solutions to address legal and commercial concerns.
Maintain contract templates repository.
Support business development efforts by providing strategic guidance on contract terms, pricing, and commercial risks.
Manage contract renewals, terminations, and compliance tracking to optimize business outcomes.
Assist in proposal development and RFP responses, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements
Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries, amendments, and disputes.
Requirements and Skills:
3-4 years of experience in contract management, ideally in the aerospace, defense, or military sector.
Proven experience with complex, high-value contracts in a defense or B2B technology environment.
Strong understanding of contract law, defense acquisition regulations, export controls (ITAR/EAR), and risk management.
Technical fluency and the ability to interpret engineering statements of work (SOWs), technical specs, and system performance criteria.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Law, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree or certifications (e.g., IACCM, NCMA) a plus.
