About the role
This position is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. The Contract Specialist will collaborate with various departments to manage contracts throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contract Drafting and Review:
Draft, review, and revise contracts, including purchase agreements, service contracts, and vendor agreements as per the nature of goods/services based on the category (FM, Admin, IT, Marketing, etc.)
Ensure contracts adhere to legal and regulatory guidelines.
Identify and mitigate contractual risks.
2. Contract Negotiation:
Negotiate contract terms and conditions with external parties, ensuring favourable terms for the organization.
Collaborate with legal counsel, vendors, and stakeholders to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
3. Contract Management
Maintain an organized contract repository and database.
Monitor contract performance and compliance throughout the contract lifecycle.
Implement contract amendments, renewals, and terminations as necessary.
4. Vendor and Stakeholder Communication
Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve contract-related issues.
Communicate contract changes and updates to relevant parties.
5. Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure contracts comply with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
Assess and mitigate contractual risks to protect the organization\'s interests.
6. Documentation and Reporting
Prepare reports on contract status, performance, and upcoming expirations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract documentation
About the requirements
Minimum of 8 + years Proven work experience as a Contracts Specialist or similar role in a large-scale organization
University degree in Business or equivalent
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously
Excellent oral and written communication skills
In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, legal terminology contract documents and legal specifications
Ability to resolve client complaints and concerns
Relevant training and/or certifications as a Contracts Specialist
