Job Overview:
As a consultant retina surgeon, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and performing advanced surgical procedures for patients with retinal diseases and conditions. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals to diagnose and treat complex retinal problems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings.
- Perform complex retinal surgeries, including vitrectomies, retinal detachments, macular holes, diabetic retinopathy, and other related procedures.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients and communicate them effectively to the patient and their family.
- Monitor patient progress and provide follow-up care as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other medical professionals, including ophthalmologists, optometrists, and nurses, in a team-based environment.
- Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings, case discussions, and other educational activities.
- Manage and maintain accurate patient records and comply with all data protection policies.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and research in retinal surgery.
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in ophthalmology and subspecialty fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery.
- Active and valid medical license in the United Arab Emirates.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a consultant retina surgeon.
- Excellent clinical skills with a strong understanding of retinal diseases and conditions.
- Ability to perform complex surgeries with precision and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Fluent in English and Arabic.
- Western education/training required.
