Seeking a Graduate QS, (with min 1 year's industry experience) to join our unique and dynamic business; specialising in fabric and engineering projects in the events and entertainment industry around the globe.

OVERALL ROLE PURPOSE:



Reporting to the Project Director this is a key role within the Project department. The role holder will be responsible for planning valuations, in conjunction with the Project Managers on each project, whilst liaising with all other relevant internal departments to ensure applications and payments are dealt with efficiently and effectively.

The role may include travel to sites, both domestically and internationally. In addition, it is expected that commercial negotiation, input of trends into tenders and contract reviews will form core functions within this post. There will also be cross department liaison, namely with the Financial Director and Project Accountant in the provision of information.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:



Work with Accounts in the management of ILC's and Import Loan Facilities.

Complete and issue a Project Start Up sheet for each project and issue to the relevant stakeholders on a rolling basis.

Prepare and issue applications outwards to relevant Main Contractors for each project within the associated timelines.

Create the expected inbound cashflow through a chosen report tool including payment certs and retention releases for each project.

Improve the profitability and competitive performance of the business through selling and negotiating skills and maximising opportunities.

Provide commercial input for business proposals.

Maintain good levels of communication with other departments within the Company.

Support the Project Manager, along with Purchasing Dept. to negotiate on supply chain.

Lead negotiations with suppliers, if required to do so.

Ensure an active role within the department, offering advice and thorough intelligence from active sites within the weekly forum.

Be active in providing data and intelligence within the Bid Team, for large tenders and or being part of Tender interviews where called on.

Carry out valuation of works on all live projects.

Certification of payments for the supply chain including sub-contractors.

Ensure all supply chain invoice correctly and align with valuations.

Final account all Subcontract and client works.

Full cost control in line with the contract review.

Support the Project Managers with managing and owning the numbers of any one project.

Carry out due diligence of all tenders ahead of award.

Variation control ensuring revenues is maximised and margin expectations are met.

Liaise with various members of the Accounts Dept. team on cash inflow and outflows.

Protect the business through the application of professional commercial practice and principles.

Display role model values to support the company ethos and culture.

A strong desire to develop the role.

Any other ad-hoc duties considered reasonable, as requested by the Project Director.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:



Minimum 1 year out in industry, in a QS capacity.

Excellent organisational & communicational skills are essential.

Excellent computer and IT skills essential.

Ability to follow detailed written instructions based on quality specifications with competent literacy skills.

Ability to work well under pressure and be self-motivated.

A thorough understanding of the principles of risk management.

Strong analysis and report writing skills demonstrating attention to detail.

Good presentation skills, both written and oral with high drive and energy levels.

Negotiation techniques and relationship development a must - good client facing collaborative attitude but not afraid to stand ground to protect the business' interests and goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



Degree qualified, preferably within the Built Environment or Construction field (Commercial Management, Business Studies, Facilities Management or Engineering also considered/desirable)

Valid full driving licence.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
