The team
The Real Estate Division is one of Addleshaw Goddard's largest. Within the division sits our Construction, Engineering and Environment Team, which is a fundamental area of our business and a practice to which the firm is deeply committed. Our team works with all sides of the GCC construction industry. With an impressive track record resolving all types of construction disputes, our GCC team advises on contract negotiation, project delivery and dispute resolution, including arbitration, litigation and all forms of ADR. The team have experience of advising clients on projects in the energy & utilities, healthcare, transport infrastructure and real estate sectors throughout the GCC. The construction practice continues to receive exciting mandates from new and existing clients and is seeking to build on its already strong offering.
The team advise sponsors, funders, developers, employers, constructors, sub-contractors and professional teams in relation to project procurement techniques (including facilities management) and dispute avoidance and resolution mechanisms across the Middle East.
The Role
We are looking for a Construction Lawyer to join the team to work on a variety of construction matters. This will focus predominantly on contentious matters.
The work is a broad range across our chosen markets and sectors, particularly Real Estate, Energy and Utilities, Industrials, Retail and Consumer and Transport and Healthcare together with our market leading Managing Risk service.
We will consider candidates with a minimum of six months' post qualification experience. We have a strong reputation for providing Lawyers with early levels of responsibility within a supportive, stretching environment. Knowledge, skills And Experience Required
  • A minimum of 6 months' post qualification experience in construction law gained within a quality environment likely but not exclusively to be within a large or mid-tier firm.
  • Excellent academic achievement with a minimum 2:1 degree.
  • The ability to actively support complex litigation, liaising and coordinating with fee earners from other relevant disciplines as needed.
  • The ability to identify and support business development opportunities, establishing strong client relationships at all levels.
  • A proven record of a high standard of client care for existing clients at the highest level
